What is a life coach?

“A life coach is someone who aims to help and empower others to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals – including excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled in the home, exploring the self and the world, and achieving ambitions.

By harnessing specialist techniques based on core psychological principals and natural intuition, life coaches provide clients with the tools to confidently face difficult situations, push past emotional barriers and eventually view life with fresh, hopeful and enlightened eyes.

Just as sports coaching enables athletes to hone themselves into the fastest, strongest, most tactical competitors in their disciplines, life coaching helps people from all professional and personal backgrounds improve their strengths and build upon their weaknesses to make the most of their lives.

At the heart of it all lies the idea that clients must be given the power to help themselves. Judgments would undermine some of the basic principles behind life coaching, which include:

  1. A) Subjectivity: we all have different perspectives of the world – no one perspective is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, but some perspectives are restrictive and can stop a person from becoming who they want to be.
  2. B) Empowerment: it is within everyone’s capability to adjust the limits of their own perspective. With the help of life coaching, anyone can learn to open their mind if they wish.
  3. C) Guidance: there is a difference between an instructor and a teacher. An instructor shows a person exactly what to do, whereas a guide provides the tools and support a person needs to do something for themselves. A life coach is more like a teacher, than an instructor.

The term ‘coaching’ itself comes from the Anglo-Saxon word for ‘carriage’, which is a means of transporting something from one place to another. A life coach, therefore, is an individual who guides another individual from where they are in life, to where they want to be in life.”

Do you guarantee results?

It is only the farmer who faithfully plants seeds in the Spring, who reaps a harvest in the Autumn.” B. C. Forbes

The results you will achieve with HealthyAlly-Coaching rely largely on the work done by you and so it would be unethical of us to place a guarantee on results! You must be ready to transform your life and create change. Once you have taken this step and made this choice, there is usually a significant amount of inner work to be done prior to seeing the results manifesting in your physical experience.

Inner work requires patience, motivation, and commitment. It may not be easy, but it is most certainly worth it. That said, we do promise to provide you with the strategies, support, clarity, motivation, and direction that you will need to achieve to surpass your most longed-for desires with ease and grace.

Is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy effective?

I believe that good therapy is common sense therapy – it shouldn’t be mysterious or mystical or include unnecessary ideas or theories. Therefore I explain and teach hypnosis and self-hypnosis according to known principles in psychology and physiology.

At HealthyAlly we use methods and approaches which have a strong evidence-base for effectiveness:
– Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,
– Problem Solving Therapy

– Hypnotherapy
,
– Mindfulness Based Therapy (mindfulness meditation)
– Assertiveness Training
– Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Will I lose control in hypnotherapy sessions? What purpose does hypnotic induction have?

Not at all. You will always be in control. The therapist cannot make you do anything you do not want to do.

The role of using hypnotic induction on the client is to place them into a waking state, in which the client’s attention is focused away from their surroundings and into their inner experiences, while in this state the client will become more responsive to suggestions, deepeners are then used to encourage the client to reach a deeper version of this state. During the whole entire process, the client is in a relaxed state of consciousness (still conscious) and will remember the session if they wanted to. This may be surprising to some who hold certain misconceptions due to stage hypnotists, but rest assured that it is not possible, as they use fake audience members or volunteers (stooges) who agree to act in whatever ways the hypnotists require them to.

What Happens During a HealthyAlly Coaching Session?

Sessions will typically be for a specific duration, 60 minutes. Sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over Zoom or via Skype. Hypnotherapy and hypnosis sessions over Zoom or skype will require the client to use a webcam, this is because the effectiveness of the hypnosis is significantly increased when the hypnotherapist can see the client.

During the session, your life coach will ask you questions such as, what you want to get out of life, what areas you’re unhappy with, and where you’d like to see yourself ending up. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions that you don’t feel comfortable with and every session will be confidential (client confidentiality aggreement), allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings privately.

Life coaching is seen as a partnership between you and your life coach, who will encourage you to explore how to make positive changes in your life. A life coach will also offer support and feedback to help you to stay focused on your goals.

How is HealthyAlly-Coaching different from other forms of coaching?

HealthyAlly-Coaching helps you to take control of ALL aspects of your life by taking a more well-rounded approach, our specialised Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist uses various effective evidence-based tools and methods to help you manage your stress and anxiety. HealthyAlly-Coaching does this by bringing awareness to your current state of being to identify your point of attraction and in doing so can assist you in understanding WHY and HOW your state of being (emotional, mental, physical) is influencing the experiences you are manifesting in your life, what you can do about it and how they are all connected. Using various techniques including Cognitive Behavioural methods, psychoanalysis, psycho-education, hypnotherapy, and problem-solving skills we can get to the root of your problem and work together to solve it.

We believe this to be a more useful technique for healing, for as you begin to grasp and truly realise what you have been doing to attract certain situations, why they have occurred, and what the hidden life lessons within them are, then and only then can you truly transform your own reality into one of bliss, harmony and manifest your heartfelt desires by consciously moving out of old belief systems and unwanted/outdated thought patterns. HealthyAlly-Coaching, in essence, provides you with all the tools you will need for self-mastery, taking back control over your life and consciously doing the inner work to live the life YOU want.

What is hypnosis and how is it used in hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is an effective way of using our attention and imagination, that can have a very powerful influence over our emotions, thinking and behaviour. In hypnosis one focuses their attention on a particular idea with a sense of positive expectation. In hypnotherapy, we simply use the natural state of hypnosis (focused attention and imagination on selected ideas) to allow us to influence and change the habitual associations and associated responses of the mind and body. Through this natural state of deep absorption and openness, new thought habits, new emotional responses, and new behavioural habits can be introduced deeply into the mind.
